Cancer starts when cells in the body begin to grow out of control. Cells in nearly any part of the body can become cancer, and can then spread to other areas of the body. The cancer can form a mass or ulcer within the stomach or it can spread diffusely throughout the entire wall of the stomach. Stomach cancer is also called gastric cancer. Stomach cancer is commonly found in people aged between 50 and 70 years of age. It is more common in men.
